Born and raised in the New York City suburbs, I took an interest in art at a very early age. My first works of art included Blue Crayon on Kitchen Floor and Red Crayon on Fireplace. Though they were not well received, remnants of the latter still exist.
During high school, a healthy diet of art classes plus a seemingly endless supply of notebook pages to fill with doodles helped prepare me for my future. In addition to learning technical skill, I began to develop interests in the areas of Surrealism and cartooning. Elements of both have been consistent in my work ever since.
Following high school, I attended the State University of New York at New Paltz where I majored in Art Education with a concentration in photography. After receiving my BA in 2005, I spent one year teaching Basic and Advanced Photography and Studio Art in a public high school. At the school year’s end, I packed up and headed west to the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA.
In 2008 I graduated with an MFA in Illustration. I took my degree (or rather, my degree took me) to Acadia and Glacier National Parks where I worked on illustration and design projects. Currently I am a freelance illustrator and designer living in New York state.
